Conquer Colombo 2019

“Conquer Colombo” is one of the biggest and most awaited scavenger hunt experiences under the Rotaract District 3220 Sri Lanka & Maldives. It was held for the 6th consecutive year on the 27th of January by the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School. Racecourse Colombo was marked as the starting point of the race.

Participants had neither age nor gender restrictions to be eligible. This opened up the opportunity to a wider spectrum of contestants, making it highly competitive. Rtr. Akhila Wijetunga, Rtr. Limashi Kosgodage, Rtr. Piyumi Abeywardhana and Rtr. Shehani Leo participated from our club and ventured into a head-to-head battle with 200 other competing teams.

The “Conquer Colombo’’ hunt for the year 2019 was unlike anything we’ve seen before. The hosting club went above and beyond to deliver a unique experience to every hunter who was ready to sprint across the busy and seemingly endless streets of Colombo.

This year, the hunt was themed to match the board game of Monopoly, with three main phases that carried 4 core challenges and 3 basket challenges. Each team was provided with Conquer Dollars that enabled them to decide and purchase a challenge based on its level of difficulty.
Contestants racked their brains trying to solve the riddles and unearthing clues that took them from one location to another. Each phase ended with an exciting twist, both delighting and challenging everyone alike.
It was indeed an experience that challenged the limits of each and every individual. The winners walked away with four return tickets to Jakarta, sponsored by Sri Lankan Airlines, along with many other gifts that made the hunt well worth the try.

The proceedings of Conquer Colombo 2019 will be utilized to fund the 3rd phase of “Project Life’’. This is the host club’s biggest Community Service project that aims to provide Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) systems to over 4 communities affected by chronic kidney disease.

With many congratulations to all the winners, we would like to wish Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School, all the very best for their future endeavors.
